Who we are

Interfaith Dental is a volunteer-driven nonprofit agency that helps vulnerable populations achieve and sustain a healthy smile. Interfaith Dental’s mission is to create a healthier community by providing transformational oral health care for those experiencing poverty.  Interfaith Dental now serves vulnerable populations in two clinic locations within a ten-county region of Middle Tennessee. Interfaith Dental focuses on life transformation through dentistry, offering both access to oral health services as well as education, motivation, and inspiration.

 

Job Responsibilities

The role you will play

The Director of Operations will serve as a key leader responsible for optimizing the day-to-day operations of our two healthcare facilities. This role ensures that patient care services are delivered efficiently, safely, and in alignment with our mission, regulatory requirements, and strategic goals. The Director of Operations reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily operational support across clinical and non-clinical departments, addressing issues related to facilities, equipment, and technology.
  • Liaise with custodial services, IT, and facilities management teams to ensure seamless coordination and issue resolution.
  • Manage vendor and payer relationships, including contract negotiations, renewals, and performance monitoring.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate clinical efficiency, patient satisfaction, and financial performance.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize resource utilization, streamline workflows, and reduce operational costs while maintaining high standards of patient care.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to ensure alignment between operational strategies, clinical outcomes, and overall patient experience.
  • Promote and drive the adoption of technology and innovation, including EMR systems and digital health tools, to enhance care delivery.
  • Oversee supply chain operations to ensure the timely procurement and delivery of necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure agency preparedness for emergencies and maintain continuity of operations during crises or disasters.

 

Qualifications

What you will bring:

  • Demonstrates a strong passion for community service and alignment with Interfaith Dental’s Core Values
  • Holds a bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or possesses a combination of education and equivalent experience.
  • Has a solid understanding of clinical and operational workflows, healthcare equipment, and technology.
  • Experience in a clinical or administrative healthcare setting, preferably in a dental environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Capable of working both collaboratively within a team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and Microsoft Teams.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed for special projects or in response to emergencies (salaried position).
