Job Summary
The Junior League of Nashville (JLN) invites qualified consultants or consulting firms to submit proposals to design and deliver a comprehensive, actionable 5-Year Marketing and Development Strategic Plan. This plan, executed by our organization’s volunteers, will guide JLN in strengthening its brand presence, community engagement, and fundraising capacity to support its mission and future sustainability.
Founded in 1922, the Junior League of Nashville is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
As a vital force for good in the Nashville community, JLN seeks to increase awareness of its impact, enhance donor engagement, and strengthen its strategic fundraising and marketing alignment.
The purpose of this RFP is to engage a consultant to:
- Develop a comprehensive, integrated 5-Year Strategic Plan for both marketing and development, including detailed goals, strategies, and metrics.
- Provide a clear, actionable implementation roadmap with timelines and budget estimates.
- Recommend best practices, tools, and staffing/resource models necessary for execution

Job Responsibilities
Scope of Work
The consultant will be expected to:
- Discovery & Assessment
- Review existing materials (strategic plan, annual reports, donor data, marketing collateral, etc.).
- Analyze current marketing and development performance, messaging, and engagement.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Facilitate interviews with JLN Leadership (President, Executive Vice President, VP of MARCOM, and VP of Development as well as President Elect and VP-Elects)
- Strategic Plan Development
- Identify key audiences and messaging strategies.
- Integrate branding, digital engagement, donor cultivation, and communications planning.
- Outline benchmarks, metrics, and timelines.
- Implementation Roadmap
- Provide recommendations for phasing and prioritization.
- Offer guidance on staffing, budget, tools/technology, and training needs.
Deliverables
- A comprehensive week by week 5-Year Strategic Marketing and Development Plan (PDF and editable format). This plan should be realistic and feasible for a volunteer-led organization to implement
- Executive summary and presentation materials for leadership/stakeholders.
- Implementation roadmap with timeline, resource recommendations, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Two virtual presentations to JLN leadership (initial findings + final plan).
Qualifications
- Proven experience in nonprofit marketing and fundraising strategy.
- Experience working with membership organizations or women’s leadership organizations preferred.
- Knowledge of Nashville’s philanthropic landscape is a plus.
- Strong facilitation and communication skills.
- Ability to deliver high-quality strategic deliverables on time and within budget.
