Job Summary

The logistics and volunteer coordinator is responsible for scheduling donations and volunteers for the Habitat for Humanity Williamson-Maury ReStore while providing a positive experience for volunteers and donors. 

Part time is possible Tues-Sat 9:30-2:30 or full time hours below.

Job Responsibilities

Donation Pickup Scheduling:

  • Field and screen incoming donation requests by communicating in a timely fashion through email and phone.
  • Schedule donation pickups with an emphasis on efficient routes to minimize travel
  • Coordinate with ReStore Manager and VP of ReStore to assess donation needs and overstock
  • Communicate with donation pickup team to address any changes or special instructions
  • Communicate clearly and specifically to ensure donors have a positive Habitat experience
  • Thank donors whose items we decline and offer them alternative outlets for their donations

Volunteer Scheduling and Coordination:

  • Schedule volunteers and volunteer groups to meet ReStore needs and provide a positive volunteer experience
  • Coordinate with ReStore Manager and VP of ReStore to assess volunteer needs and projects
  • Actively seek volunteers with skills needed for ReStore projects and tasks
  • Ensure that volunteers have clear expectations and instructions for their work
  • Oversee and collaborate with volunteers to accomplish tasks
  • Follow up with past volunteers for their feedback about their experience and how we might improve

Other Duties:

  • Assist with daily ReStore operations including cashiering, customer service, loading and receiving donations, maintaining a clean and organized store
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with scheduling and working with volunteers
  • Knowledge of type and quality of products ReStore sells
  • Requires clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, customer focused service skills, and pleasant and understanding conflict resolutions skills that will result in strong customer/donor satisfaction.
