Belmont Mansion is looking to fill part-time historical interpreter positions. Historical Interpreters serve as the public face of the museum by presenting our history to guests, answering questions, and assisting guests as needed.
Job Responsibilities
The duties of a Historical Interpreter include greeting guests and selling tickets; providing historical interpretation through informal conversations, formal introductions for the general admission tour and leading fully guided tours; and helping customers in our museum shop. They also answer the phone, assist with seasonal special events, and assist administrative staff with other duties as needed.
Qualifications
Ideal applicants should have strong public speaking and interpersonal skills; experience in customer service; the ability to remain positive, respectful, and flexible in a fast-paced environment; and the ability to climb stairs and stand for long periods of time.
