Job Summary
We are seeking a Construction Technician with residential repair experience and a heart for service. This position performs high-quality home repairs in a timely manner, often with limited supervision, while working in occupied homes of older adults and people with disabilities. Technicians cross-train across trades and contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven team.
About Us
Westminster Home Connection, a nonprofit construction agency, serves older adults and people with disabilities whose homes have become unsafe places to live, due to issues of function or immobility.
Job Responsibilities
- Basic carpentry, drywall repair, plumbing, and electrical skills
- Working knowledge of power tools and hand tools
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Clear communication and ability to follow instructions
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new skills
- Ability to perform full-day physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs
- English proficiency sufficient for safety and job communication
- Non-smoker (Westminster Home Connection is a non-smoking organization)
Qualifications
Qualifications (Minimum Requirements)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Residential carpentry or handyman experience
- Valid Tennessee Driver’s License
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
