This position supports this mission by providing caring and safe childcare to East End’s youngest children. The Nursery Caregiver is responsible
for providing a safe and welcoming environment for children in our care. The EEUMC Nursery Team is a key component to the overall community of East End UMC and plays an important role in the lives of our families.
As a part of the EEUMC Nursery Caregiver Team, your role is to provide safe, secure, nurturing, clean and loving care to our children.
Job Responsibilities
• Foster and grow relationships with parents, children, and nursery team members (staff and volunteers).
• Provide a welcoming and loving environment for all of our families and visitors.
• Implement faith formation curriculum for toddlers alongside EEUMC volunteers.
• Work with other staff to setup and break down of the nursery rooms before and after each worship service.
• Ensure nursery rooms are clean, including mopping the floor tiles.
• Oversee the care of all equipment and toys, including sanitizing toys, and coordinating the purchase of supplies when needed.
• Adhere to all EEUMC policies and covenants, including but not limited to sign in/out procedures, Safe Sanctuary, diapering, feeding, toileting and hand washing.
• Engage with family as they drop off and pick up their children, ensuring secure check in and check out procedures are followed for all children.
• Care for all children by providing physical and emotional care, and safety.
• Engage with the children in interactive play and learning activities.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Experience, knowledge, and understanding of working with infants, toddlers, and families.
• Clean background check.
• A love for fostering the growth and development of children.
• The ability to work Sunday morning services unless otherwise approved by the Pastor with Children and their Families.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be in a flexible and fluid environment. Position is
highly active and is required to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, crawl, bend, and stoop. Employees must lift children,
move supplies, or lift other items up to 40 pounds.
