Job Summary

The Program Director provides strategic and operational leadership for DYMON’s youth development programs. This position oversees program design, curriculum development, lesson planning, student recruitment and retention, supervision of Teachers, Site Coordinators, and Youth Engagement Specialists, workforce scheduling, quality assurance, and compliance. The Program Director collaborates with schools, families, and community partners to deliver engaging, mission-driven programs that improve academic success, leadership development, and youth engagement.

 

Job Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Development

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all DYMON youth development programs.
  • Develop annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly program plans.
  • Coordinate enrichment activities, field trips, guest speakers, and special events.
  • Ensure all programs align with DYMON’s mission and grant requirements.

Curriculum Development & Lesson Planning

  • Develop curriculum frameworks and engaging lesson plans.
  • Provide instructional resources to teachers and staff.
  • Monitor lesson implementation and improve curriculum based on outcomes.

Staff Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise Teachers, Site Coordinators, and Youth Engagement Specialists.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, train, coach, and evaluate staff.
  • Conduct staff meetings and professional development.
  • Promote a positive, accountable, and collaborative culture.

Staff Scheduling & Workforce Management

  • Develop and manage staff schedules.
  • Ensure adequate staffing at every program site.
  • Coordinate substitute coverage and monitor attendance and timekeeping.

Student Recruitment & Retention

  • Develop annual recruitment and retention plans by building partnerships with schools and community organizations.
  • Coordinate enrollment events and monitor enrollment, attendance, and retention data.
  • Implement strategies that improve student engagement and long-term participation.

Program Operations

  • Oversee daily operations across all DYMON sites.
  • Maintain supplies, records, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure safe, organized, and high-quality programming.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Conduct site visits and program observations.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and grant requirements.
  • Lead continuous quality improvement efforts.

Family & Community Engagement

  • Build relationships with students, families, schools, and community partners.
  • Represent DYMON at meetings and community events.

Reporting & Administration

  • Prepare program reports and maintain enrollment, attendance, staffing, and performance records.
  • Assist with budgets, grant reporting, and board presentations.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Services, Youth Development, Social Work, Public Administration, Recreation, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum five years of youth program management experience, including at least three years supervising staff. Experience with curriculum development, student recruitment, community partnerships, and grant-funded programs preferred.
