A strong fundraising leader does more than ask for gifts. They build relationships, communicate your mission, and create a sustainable path to revenue. Finding the right person begins with understanding what your organization needs and knowing how to recognize the skills, judgment, and experience that will help them succeed.
This workshop helps nonprofit executives, board members, and hiring teams prepare to recruit and evaluate a Development Officer with greater confidence. Participants will review the role’s core responsibilities, strengthen their job description, and establish realistic goals aligned with their organization’s size, resources, and fundraising readiness. We’ll explore how responsibilities such as donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, grant development, and fundraising strategy fit together and what one person can reasonably accomplish with the support available.
