Position Summary

The Book Programs Coordinator supports the daily operations of Book’em’s Books for Nashville’s Kids (BFNK) program and special book distribution initiatives. This role is highly hands-on—managing inventory, coordinating logistics, and working directly with volunteers to prepare and distribute books across the community.

Job Responsibilities

 

Key Responsibilities

📦 Book Logistics & Inventory

  • Process donated and purchased books
  • Fulfill book requests and prepare distributions
  • Organize inventory across warehouse and off-site storage
  • Support book pick-ups and deliveries (local travel required)
  • Assist with special projects (e.g., school and community partnerships)

📅 Program Coordination

  • Schedule and manage book distribution logistics
  • Track inventory and update internal systems
  • Maintain supplies and materials for processing books

🤝 Volunteer Leadership

  • Lead and support volunteer groups
  • Train volunteers in book processing
  • Maintain an organized, welcoming environment

🧩 Operations & Support

  • Assist with phone/email inquiries
  • Support staff and organizational needs as they arise
  • Represent Book’em professionally with partners and the community

Qualifications

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working in a physically active role
  • Valid driver’s license and insured vehicle

Preferred:

  • 1+ year relevant experience (nonprofit, education, logistics, or retail/operations)
  • Experience working with volunteers or teams
  • Passion for literacy, children, and community impact
