About the Opportunity

A mission-driven, community-centered healthcare organization is seeking a Chief of Staff (CoS) to serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and a key driver of enterprise alignment, execution, and organizational effectiveness.

This executive will play a pivotal role in advancing an ambitious multi-year strategic roadmap taking the organization into their 2.0, ensuring that priorities translate into clear action, cross-functional coordination, and measurable outcomes.

The Chief of Staff will act as a trusted advisor, integrator, and force multiplier, enabling the CEO to focus on long-term strategy, partnerships, and growth while ensuring operational excellence across the organization.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Strategy & Alignment

  • Translate executive and board priorities into enterprise-wide plans, timelines, and decision frameworks
  • Lead strategic planning processes and ensure alignment across divisions
  • Drive organizational clarity through structured operating rhythms and communication

CEO Partnership & Executive Advisory

  • Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CEO
  • Prepare briefings, presentations, and key communications
  • Anticipate organizational needs and emerging challenges

Executive Leadership Team Integration

  • Manage leadership meeting cadence, agendas, and follow-through
  • Strengthen collaboration, accountability, and decision discipline
  • Foster a culture rooted in equity, clarity, and execution

Governance & Board Strategy

  • Oversee board materials, dashboards, and strategic updates
  • Coordinate board and committee engagement
  • Support governance effectiveness alongside the CEO and Board Chair

Culture, People & Organizational Effectiveness

  • Partner with HR to advance talent strategy and workforce planning
  • Strengthen employee engagement, leadership development, and organizational health
  • Embed trauma-informed, equity-centered practices across teams
  • Align values with employee experience and performance systems

Initiative & Performance Management

  • Track and drive progress of enterprise strategic initiatives
  • Build dashboards and reporting systems for performance visibility
  • Lead cross-functional project reviews and risk mitigation

Cross-Functional Integration

  • Align initiatives across healthcare, operations, finance, development, and marketing
  • Improve internal systems, communication flow, and scalability

Executive Communications & Narrative Leadership

  • Shape strategic messaging aligned with CEO voice and organizational priorities
  • Drive internal communication rhythms that promote transparency and cohesion

Strategic Readiness & Partnerships

  • Support acquisition and partnership readiness, including due diligence and integration
  • Ensure cultural and operational alignment during periods of change

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Public Administration, Business, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Organizational Leadership, or related field
  • 8–10 years of senior leadership or executive operations experience
  • Proven success in strategic planning, organizational integration, or governance
  • Exceptional communication, judgment, and strategic thinking
  • Experience in healthcare, human services, or mission-driven organizations preferred
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and whole-person health
  • Able to travel 20-25% of the time
