Job Summary
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Nashville (RMHC), a nonprofit family residential facility, seeks a full-time, professional with communications and marketing experience to perform the duties of a Communications Coordinator. This person must be highly organized with great attention to detail and have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Job Responsibilities
Candidates must be people-oriented and responsible for implementing a comprehensive Communications Plan that includes but is not limited to managing the details of the production of the organization’s overall communications and marketing goals to advance the organization’s brand and increase community knowledge and engagement.
The candidate is responsible for the implementation of a comprehensive Communications and Marketing plan that includes but is not limited to managing details of the production of all marketing and communication activities for 5 special events, all website and social media content promoting our mission, and coordinating and overseeing all activities of the RMHC of Nashville Associate Board.
Successful individuals will have strong leadership skills, initiative, enthusiasm, and dependability, enjoy interaction with children and families, and be highly adaptable. Qualifications
- Knowledge of organizational communication theory and practice
- Working knowledge of electronic and print communication processes including web content management systems
- Knowledge of marketing concepts, principles, and integrated marketing communication theory and practice
- Knowledge of public relations tactics
- Superior written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of the Associated Press Style Guide
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office experience
- Social media savvy
- Attention to detail and ability to meet multiple deadlines while working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
- Ability to make independent decisions, demonstrate leadership ability, and build relationships
- Must be comfortable working independently and as a team player
- Preference is given to individuals with experience in Adobe Creative Cloud products and working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products
- Preference is given to individuals with SEO knowledge and experience
- 1-3 years experience in a communications/marketing role; demonstrable work at internships may substitute for one year of experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, or related discipline required (radio/television/film degree might be considered depending upon other experience)
- Experience in non-profit communications/marketing a plus
- Ability to handle multiple demands from various entities along with high-volume requests and rapid responses
- Maintain confidentiality when dealing with volunteer, resident, donor, and organizational information
- Possession of a valid driver’s license
Physical Factors:
Ability to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, push, and pull items weighing 40 pounds or less: manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
