Job Summary

BACKGROUND

Building on Martha O’Bryan Center’s (MOBC’s) efforts running one of the largest benefits cliff-focused pilots in the nation (Our ChanceTN), Beyond the Cliff, a benefits cliff-focused learning and advocacy coalition, was launched in 2024. In a first of its kind coalition, Beyond the Cliff brings together over 70 practitioners from across more than 25 states, DC, and Puerto Rico including state and county agencies, workforce providers, and social service organizations, all aligned on having identified barriers to economic opportunity that are built into our public benefits system (e.g. benefits cliffs) and actively testing innovating solutions to address these barriers. Beyond the Cliff is growing a movement by raising awareness of the issue nationally, supporting efforts to build evidence for what works, and advancing policy solutions at the state and federal level.
