Job Summary
Founded in 2015 as a 501(c)(3), Nashville Parks Foundation (NPF) exists to enhance parks for everyone through philanthropy, advocacy, and community partnerships. NPF works closely with Metro Parks to support programs, facilities, and initiatives that strengthen Nashville’s public spaces.

Job Responsibilities
Organizational Leadership & Board Relations
- Partner with the Board of Directors to advance NPF’s mission, strategy, and annual priorities
- Provide regular, clear reporting on organizational performance, finances, and progress toward goals
- Support board development, including recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and committee work
- Ensure strong governance practices, policies, and procedures
Financial Management & Administration
- Oversee all financial operations to ensure fiscal health and long-term sustainability
- Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with the Board
- Monitor revenue and expenses and adjust operations as needed
- Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and compliance with nonprofit best practices and regulations
- Coordinate with board treasurer, accountants, and other external partners as needed
Fundraising & Development
- Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy, with emphasis on major gifts, foundations, and individual donors
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward donors in partnership with board members
- Lead annual giving efforts, sponsorships, grants, and special events
- Ensure consistent donor stewardship, communication, and recognition
- Track fundraising progress and adapt strategies to meet or exceed annual goals
Metro Parks Department Collaboration
- Serve as the primary liaison to the Metro Parks Director and key staff
- Align NPF fundraising and advocacy efforts with Metro Parks priorities and needs
- Develop a clear case for support for parks programs, facilities, and initiatives
Marketing, Communications & Public Engagement
- Lead marketing and communications efforts to increase visibility, awareness, and donor engagement
- Oversee brand messaging across digital platforms, including website, email, and social media
- Maintain and update the Foundation’s website and social media presence (directly or through contractors)
- Serve as NPF’s public spokesperson at events, meetings, and speaking engagements
- Build relationships with media and community partners to promote NPF’s work
Staff & Volunteer Leadership
- Recruit, manage, and mentor staff and contractors as needed
- Set goals and expectations to support effective performance
- Support professional growth and a collaborative team culture
- Staffing levels may evolve as the Foundation grows
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Significant, progressively responsible experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, or management
- Demonstrated success in fundraising, donor relations, and financial oversight
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Experience working effectively with a board of directors
- Comfort wearing multiple hats in a small nonprofit environment
- Proficiency with common remote working tools such as Microsoft Office, G-Suite, Zoom, Canva, Wix and others.
- Passion for public service and community impact
- Experience with public parks, government, or municipal partnerships a plus
