Job Summary
Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee (GSMT) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization serving nearly 11,000 girls across 39 counties. As part of a national organization, GSMT provides girls with opportunities to develop leadership skills and explore interests in STEM, the outdoors, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement. Our programs are designed to be girl-led, community-centered, and focused on building a generation of girls who are courageous, confident, and make the world a better place.
We are seeking an organized, analytical, and collaborative Grant Administrator to support the Council’s fundraising and development efforts. As a key member of the Development team, the Grant Administrator will be responsible for identifying, applying for, and managing grant funding that supports mission delivery across the Council’s 39-county footprint.
Reporting to the Chief Development & Engagement Officer (CDEO), the Grant Administrator will manage all aspects of the grant lifecycle – from research and proposal development to reporting and compliance – while ensuring that internal stakeholders have the accurate information, data, and collaboration needed to align funding with strategic priorities. This position also supports the CDEO with execution of overall fundraising strategy, including donor database maintenance, donor acknowledgments, and reporting.

Responsibilities: The Grant Administrator is responsible for:
Grant Research, Strategy, and Application
· Collaborate with leadership and program staff to identify funding needs and program opportunities.
· Research prospective funding opportunities at the programmatic and organizational levels.
· Develop, write, and submit persuasive grant proposals and applications.
· Track grant deadlines and maintain an up-to-date calendar of submission and reporting schedules.
Compliance & Grant Management
· Ensure timely and accurate reporting for awarded grants, including outcome measurement and compliance documentation.
· Maintain organized grant records and historical data for both internal tracking and external reporting.
· Serve as a liaison to funders, maintaining strong, professional relationships with both new and existing grantors.
Development Operations Support
· Maintain and manage accurate donor and funder data in Raiser’s Edge, including gift entry, reporting, acknowledgements, and donor updates.
· Collaborate with the Chief Development & Engagement Officer to support other fundraising efforts as needed, such as writing donor communications, creating fundraising materials, and supporting fundraising event planning.
Qualifications
Education, Experience, & Job Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree preferred, with 2-4 years of experience in grant writing, nonprofit development, or fundraising.
· Demonstrated success writing and managing grant portfolios across various funder types.
· Experience working with donor database systems, Raisers Edge preferred.
· Familiarity with and enthusiasm for the Girl Scout mission strongly preferred.
· Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising, development operations, and donor communications a plus.
· Current valid drivers’ license, proof of vehicle insurance, transportation availability, and ability to pass a criminal background check (including a motor vehicle report).
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Requirements:
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as honed research skills.
· Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented.
· Tech savvy, including proficiency in MS Office, grant portals, and donor database systems.
· Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a mission-driven environment.
· Able to work independently and collaboratively across teams, able to effectively work and communicate with a diverse set of staff and donors.
· Professional, polished, and dependable with a strong work ethic.
· Comfortable managing sensitive information with discretion.
