Job Summary

Mental and Behavioral Therapist / Social Worker

Onsite at The Village at Glencliff

2-6 hours per week

Organization Overview
The Village at Glencliff’s (TVG) (www.villageatglencliff.org) mission is to provide a healing community for unhoused Nashvillians who are medically vulnerable to safely recover, stabilize their lives, and imagine their futures.

TVG is a nonprofit, transformational medical respite program created to provide people experiencing homelessness with a dignified and hospitable place for recovery after a hospitalization. Our respite/bridge housing community of 12 tiny homes serves the most vulnerable in an effort to raise the equity of healthcare in Nashville, meeting each individual’s most basic needs so that they are empowered to focus on healing and finding permanent supportive housing.

We are a startup nonprofit many years in the making. We opened our program to the first resident in September of 2021. Our current capacity is limited but we are increasingly filling a profound need in the Nashville continuum of care and have high aspirations for growth. We are the only long-term medical respite in Middle Tennessee and the only one that operates as we do in the United States, incorporating bridge housing and services through until our residents find their next home.

Job Responsibilities

Overview of Position
TVG is in need of a Social Worker to be onsite 2-6 hours per week, meeting with our residents to discern their mental health status, and meeting with staff to report/support recommended activities. Our residents will benefit from the following from this person’s expertise and experience:

  2. Offering time for individual therapy sessions with our residents as they become open to that process;
  3. Coordinating with TVG staff to improve the mental health of our residents through suggested activities, on or off-site therapy, and/or referrals to medication management in coordination with one of our partners (United Neighborhood Health);
  4. Track resident interaction and progress for their benefits records and for the TVG database.
