Job Summary

NCA is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated and outgoing Full-Time Prevention and Outreach Specialist to lead community education and outreach efforts focused on child abuse prevention. This role is ideal for a natural connector and confident public speaker who thrives in the community by building relationships, delivering trainings, coordinating events and engaging the community to raise awareness and promote NCA’s mission.

This highly independent role also manages NCA’s social media and e-newsletter content, ensuring our message reaches and inspires the broader community. In addition, the Specialist will support the Director of Development as needed with fundraising initiatives, event planning, and donor engagement efforts.

Job Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prevention Education & Training
    • Actively seek out opportunities for prevention education and collaboration throughout the community.
    • Deliver engaging prevention trainings to diverse audiences, facilitating discussion and answering questions confidently.
    • Develop, adapt and present training materials on child abuse prevention, NCA and child advocacy centers as a whole.
  • Community Outreach & Events
    • Plan, coordinate and attend community outreach events year-round.
    • Lead NCA’s Child Abuse Prevention Month initiatives each April, including awareness campaigns, collaborative activities and community engagement opportunities.
    • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including schools, nonprofits, churches, daycares, businesses, civic groups, community leaders, etc.
    • Serve as NCA’s volunteer liaison and oversee all volunteer coordination for events and/or donation drives.
    • Provide tours of NCA for interested stakeholders.
  • Communications & Marketing
    • Manage NCA’s social media platforms and e-newsletter, creating compelling, mission-driven content and graphics to grow engagement and awareness.
    • Raise awareness about NCA and child abuse prevention efforts through social media, radio, local news outlets, podcasts, and more.
    • Represent NCA professionally at community events, meetings, media appearances and presentations.
  • Development & Fundraising Support
    • Assist the Director of Development with fundraising campaigns, donor engagement, and event planning.
    • Support grant reporting by collecting data and tracking program outcomes, including surveys, training impact and community engagement.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Passion for NCA’s mission and commitment to child safety and trauma-informed care.
  • Exceptional public speaking with strong facilitation skills; ability to engage audiences and handle difficult topics with ease.
  • Outgoing and approachable with strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, independent, creative and proactive with a “go-getter” mindset.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work outside of “standard” office hours on occasion as needed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to a broad range of audiences.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with social media management, digital communications, or marketing preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English highly preferred, but not required.
