Job Summary

NeedLink Nashville helps our neighbors meet their most basic needs in times of crisis by providing short-term financial assistance for rent and utilities, while also linking clients to other available resources. The Client Services Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting low-income residents of Davidson County by providing high-quality, compassionate service. This position involves helping clients navigate crisis situations, connecting them to community resources, and maintaining a calm and supportive presence in a fast-paced environment both over the phone and in person. It requires compassion and empathy for individuals and families experiencing poverty and a solid understanding of challenges related to housing instability, hunger, and poverty in Nashville.

Job Responsibilities

  • Follow up with clients in a timely manner and communicate updates on their application status.
  • Provide one-on-one resource counseling and crisis support for clients with urgent needs.
  • Coordinate with landlords and utility companies for account updates and pending payments.
  • Support clients referred by partner agencies and help coordinate multi-agency services.
  • Assist with office operations such as copying documents, organizing client applications, and restocking materials.
  • Attend occasional meetings or events with community partners to represent NeedLink.
  • Take the lead in day-to-day implementation of NeedLink’s RESET program, which supports older adults in identifying and accessing public benefits.
  • Meet with older adult clients to help determine potential benefit eligibility and refer them to partner organizations as needed.
  • Represent NeedLink at RESET partner meetings and benefit enrollment events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or a related field is required. Applicants without a Social Work degree must include a cover letter explaining relevant education and experience.
  • ACE or Trauma-Informed Care certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to quickly learn and navigate online platforms such as Charity Tracker and Formstack.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot standard office equipment.
  • Patience and professionalism when interacting with clients in distress or with complex needs.
  • Self-motivation and strong team collaboration skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
  • Self-motivated team player with the ability to manage priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
